National Nothing Day (belated)

So it turns out that yesterday was National Nothing Day. I would have posted about it yesterday, but you know… National Nothing Day.

The only thing better than this would be if National Donut Day happened to be on the same date. Doing nothing and eating donuts? Now that’s something — I mean nothing? — I can get behind.

While I was at it, I could read Kafka and Foucault and Derrida (because postmodernism is like nothing wrapped up in nothing), and…er….no. That would be torture, and torture is certainly not nothing. If I’m going to do nothing, it’s going to be fun.

You know what’s fun? Music. Let’s go with…

And because music just wouldn’t be music without some Rush… And because it’s a good reminder…

You don’t get something for nothing; you can’t have freedom for free.

And finally, something that’s actually worth not only celebrating, but also thinking about and working for: Yesterday was also National Religious Freedom Day.

That’s definitely not nothing. I really should have done something.
